Top Ten Best Reads from 2015…so far
Each week, The Broke and the Bookish hosts this book meme, and this week's prompt is "Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2015."
- Yes, Please by Amy Poehler – I got this book on Audible, and I really think that listening to Amy and her funny friends read this book aloud is the way to go. I loved every bit of this book and will treasure it always.
- The Girl With All The Gifts by M. R. Carey – This book was AMAZING. And I am grateful that it brought me back towards horror (though I wouldn't really call this a horror book).
- Cress by Marissa Meyer – I literally just finished this book, and I am on the edge of my seat for more.
- Wicked As They Come by Delilah S. Dawson – This was a Vaginal Fantasy Book Club pick from 2014, but I haven't been doing a lot of reading this year yet...Still, if you like steam-punk, circus romance, you'll like this book.
- Grace's Guide: The Art of Pretending To Be A Grown-Up by Grace Helbig – One of my all-time favorite YouTubers' first book! It is more for fresh out of college aged people than someone who just turned 30, but I still found it to be a fun read.
- My Life As A White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland – One of my picks for the Books, Booze & Bajingos book club (you should join us!). I don't really like zombie-things...in fact I hate them. But this was a clever reworking of the zombie monster. I need to get more from this series.
- The Bullet-Catcher's Daughter by Rod Duncan – Another pick of mine for BB+B. Another steampunk fiction, as well...come to think of it...another traveling circus, too.
- Saga Volumn 4 by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples – This came out in Dec. 2014, but I didn't get it till after the holidays. I AM READY FOR THE NEXT TRADE ALREADY. Too bad I have to wait till September. Sigh.
- Life Among the Savages by Shirley Jackson – This book was so funny, and it also made me horrified to have children.
- Greywalker by Kat Richardson – Another Vaginal Fantasy book. It made me a Kat Richardson fan. I need to get more from this series, too.
